A Question of Quality

When you next seek out a locker and storage supplier, ask yourself three key questions.

Will they visit the site to measure up and match their products and services to your requirements?

Will they provide a dedicated project manager to work with you throughout the project and fine-tune their designs if parameters shift mid-timeline?

Can they deliver a fit-out team who will work round the clock if necessary to complete the project on time and with minimal fuss and disruption?

If you can answer ‘Yes’ to all three, chances are you’ll choose Crown Sports Lockers – an FSC-certified, Made in Britain manufacturer that’s been designing and delivering the finest facilities since 1993.

Their waterproof lockers are fabricated using recycled plastic board, including a biocidal agent active against organisms such as MRSA and E-coli.

Crown’s dedicated lacquering line can also apply Medicote antimicrobial furniture lacquers, proven effective against pathogen growth on their surface, “with a kill rate of 99%”.

Lincombe Hall Leisure Provision Embraces Inclusivity

In today’s burgeoning spa sector, relaxation for all is a keystone of operator strategy.

That’s certainly true at the AA 4* Lincombe Hall Hotel, Torquay, which has recently opened a £2m high-end luxury spa to create a year-round destination at the boutique hotel.

Access for wheelchair visitors is a feature of the luxury facility. “Disabled toilets and showers are available in the male and female changing areas,” confirms Simon Bantock of Ashton House Design, which conceived the layout and specified all the interior surfacings and fittings – working with changing room specialists Crown Sports Lockers on the stylish, high-end fit-out.

“Ramps allow wheelchair guests to conveniently access treatment rooms, lap and spa pools, pool loungers and changing areas, thanks to level access throughout,” he adds.

When inclusivity is talked of often but sometimes overlooked, Lincombe Hall Hotel is one example of leisure and hospitality meeting the needs of disabled visitors.

Crown Sports Lockers is a Made in Britain manufactures and installs wooden lockers (including a waterproof range fabricated from recycled plastic board) benching, vanities, ancillary furniture and washroom facilities. The company is FSC certified – sourcing timber only from sustainably managed forests.

Waterproof Lockers Feature Recycled Plastic Carcasses and Combat Bacteria

Mounting concern among operators and managers to heighten hygiene in wet change facilities has sparked a major advance from one of the UK’s top specialist suppliers.

Pathogens resistant to traditional antibacterial agents could seriously undermine maintenance programmes designed to minimise risk of infection among facility guests and members.

Changing room and storage specialists Crown Sports Lockers has reacted to the threat by launching a waterproof locker range developed to stem growth of harmful organisms such as MRSA and E-coli on its surfaces.

Under Crown’s commitment to deliver sustainable solutions for clients, the locker carcass is constructed using recycled PVC plastic board created from the supplier’s own waste.

Crown commands more 26 years’ experience in fashioning bespoke fitouts across hotels, spa, hospitality, fitness, sport and leisure and is noted for introducing market firsts.

“We’ve been developing the product for some time,” says Crown Project Manager Spencer Grimwood, “and eagerly anticipate its impact on the sectors we serve.

“The advance will allow us to combine the natural appeal of timber lockers and ancillary furniture fitted in spa treatment rooms, with changing facilities that resist moisture ingress, increase hygiene and meet mounting demand for environmentally green solutions. The carcasses can be recycled at end of life.”

In all its output, the FSC-accredited and Made in Britain manufacturer uses sustainably-sourced timber in delivering stylish, made-to-measure facilities meeting modern needs for comfortable, secure, brand-building elements of an operator’s offering.

Doors used with the waterproof carcasses can be fabricated from real timber or a range of compact laminates. For wet environments, where real timber doors are lacquered (Crown Sports Lockers runs their own lacquering line at their factory) Medicote A/C antimicrobial lacquer is used as standard.

Polyrey compact laminate washroom range doors include Sanitized antibacterial treatment, which eliminates 99.9%of all bacteria.

With textured finishes to suit every decor, application and budget, Crown provides a dedicated project manager to partner clients from first meeting to handover.

Crown Ease Sustainability Concerns

Leisure operator climate concerns are mounting rapidly as sustainability issues take hold across the spectrum of provision.
Few if any suppliers can deliver a total solution but they can help clients raise their green credentials substantially.
In gaining Forest Stewardship Council ® (FSC ® ) certification, changing room specialists Crown Sports Lockers can assure clients about the sustainability of their own sourcing.
The status confirms that Crown suppliers have sourced wood and associated products from FSC-certified origins and that it offers clients full chain of custody to ensure end products are FSC certified.
Add to this key assurance Crown’s position as a Made in Britain manufacturer and its recent launch of a waterproof locker range fabricated from recycled plastic board, and operators can rest confident that they are specifying from an environmentally responsible company.

Sustainability Matters to You and to Us

Sustainability is seldom far from specifiers’ thoughts as operators in public and private sectors seek to secure their environmental credentials in delivering facilities that contribute to the circular society.

As Made in Britain manufacturers, changing room and storage specialists Crown Sports Lockers only source materials from sustainable origins, which in turn reassures customers seeking environmentally sound suppliers.

Soon to be FSC accredited, Crown seek to strengthen their own contribution to the circular society as well as that of their customers. Their high-end factory runs on clean electricity generated from solar panels, while also recycling process heat to warm offices and the factory floor.

When you need to specify storage and changing room facilities, ask suppliers about their own green credentials. Crown are more than happy to discuss theirs with you.

Crown Unveil Sustainable Storage Solution

Changing room and storage specialists Crown Sports Lockers are launching an industry first at this year’s Independent Hotel Show (IHS).

A waterproof locker fabricated with recycled plastic board will take centre stage on their stand F12 at what is its ninth straight showing at the popular annual event.

The locker also includes an antibacterial agent that prevents growth of MRSA and E.coli pathogens to introduce heightened hygiene into changing and washroom environments.

“The advance allows us to blend the natural appeal of timber lockers and ancillary furniture fitted in spa treatment and changing rooms with a sustainable storage solution for facilities wishing to enhance hygiene while meeting mounting demand for environmentally green options,” said Crown Project Manager Spencer Grimwood.

Made in Britain manufacturer Crown commands more than 25 years’ know-how in the design and installation of inspiring hospitality, leisure and sports changing provision.

Crown has fitted out a host of spectacular spas, several in seaside destinations, including Saunton Sands Hotel, St Michael’s Resort & Spa and Woolacombe Bay Hotel.

“We unveiled the locker to the education sector recently and it proved really popular,” Spencer adds. “Its waterproof feature and recycled plastic content ticked the boxes for those who saw the product.”

Blades’ player changing `razor sharp`

Sheffield United

Newly promoted Sheffield United FC had to move fast when they won promotion to the Premier League in the 2018/2019 campaign.

Premiership stars demand quality in the changing room and The Blades were no exception. The club had been soldiering on with freestanding steel benches at its academy training ground and knew they needed to step up to a new level of provision.

The club’s facilities management firm approached Crown on a fast timeline to deliver a team changing room befitting its Premier League status.

In just three weeks, the Made in Britain manufacturer had fashioned and fitted melamine-faced player changing bays in United’s red and white colours, complete with upholstered seats.

The club is said to be over the moon with the quality of the finished product, reports the facility firm’s project manager.
